MERETAS PERJALANAN MENUJU KEUTUHAN GMIH 2027

Abstract

The conflict and disputes within GMIH, which resulted in dual leadership (two administrations), have been ongoing since 2013. These conflicts and disputes have taken a significant toll. Throughout the course of this conflict, various parties, both from within the church and the government, have attempted to reconcile the two factions of GMIH. Although these reconciliation efforts seemed to yield little success, we must be grateful that God continues to send people with compassionate hearts to remind the leaders and members of both factions of GMIH about the importance of living in peace with one another. Peace meetings were held in Manado, then in Tobelo, then back in Manado and Tobelo again, and so on; ultimately, a meeting was held in Jakarta on December 5, 2023. Both parties finally agreed that in 2027, a Joint Synod Assembly would be held. Before the Joint Synod Assembly takes place in 2027, several preliminary agendas must be carried out together. These include forming a Joint Prayer Team, exchanging pulpit ministers on Sundays or during other worship services, and establishing a team to align church documents
